Graham has worked in most aspects of the pavement and related materials industry, from labouring for a family-owned road contracting business to being a principal research engineer with Australia’s premier road-research institute.
In between, Graham has personally sourced road-building materials, crushed these at a quarry he managed, tested the product at one of the laboratories he managed and designed the pavements in which they were used. A distance-tutor for a quarrying education program; producing asphalt at ‘his’ automated batch-plant and seminar presenter around Australia and New Zealand are evidence of Graham’s broad experience.
Graham has now returned to consult in the designing of new pavements and producing rehabilitation designs for individual pavements and networks; work undertaken at VicRoads whilst Pavement Design Team Leader.
Graham’s other passion is researching and developing solutions for a range of clients’ needs….preferably in ‘pavement-related’ issues! Whether it’s the best way to remove excess bitumen from a flushed surface, which types of asphalt can cover cracked surfaces or producing a manual on how to design road shoulders, Graham has a broad range of contacts to consult.
